Please check out this “once-in-a-lifetime” chance to become a
member of the John Deere Engineering Exploring program.
Exploring is a
co-ed program open to students that are between
the ages of 14 – 20 of whom have completed the eighth grade. The
purpose of the Engineering & Technology Exploring program is to
provide you with information about careers in all types of engineering,
to answer any questions you may have regarding the profession,
and to participate in hands-on projects demonstrating engineering
principles. This post will meet once a month, for two to three hours,
with occasional off-site activities and learning opportunities as they
arise.
Explorers
will be introduced to a wide array of engineering departments and meet
some of the respective engineers that work in those departments.
Activities will include introduction
to CAD (Computer- Aided Drafting), 3-D modeling of components &
assemblies, and CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). You will also
be introduced to the Virtual Reality Lab and how this will change the
way that engineers design machines in the future.
There will be many hands-on projects that the John Deere team will
create for you to master.
