I  LOVE Dubuque Senior High!

It's February! Fall in love with school all over again!

Here are the some ideas to achieve this: 

*get involved in something you have an interest in.

Maybe attend that club meeting you have not made time for yet!

*go to Snowcoming

*spend some time talking to a teacher.

Get to know your teachers and let them get to know you. There are so many benefits to this - learn something you might not have known; they might help you figure out your next steps after high school; you might have similar interests....

* (this is a cRazy one! Ready?) Spend some time doing school work at home! Some people call it homework. I know! I told you it was crazy. But you might find that you start to learn somethings that are pretty interesting. You might find that you understand some things in class. You might find....that you actually like some of the subjects you are forced to study during the day. Just a thought.

*Start researching careers you might like to explore.

Your counselors have some great simple suggestions for this. Come visit us!

*Be friendly to those at school

Even those people you don't know. Say hi to people in the hallway. Stop and talk to the secretaries and support staff in the building. A friendly word goes a long way and it might make your day more enjoyable. 

*Attend a school event.

Grab a friend and attend an event - any event: a game, meet, theater production...

Fall in love this month...with school! Try something new and get involved.
