Dubuque Police Department: Law Enforcement
START DATE: SEPTEMBER 30TH
Meetings: 6-8:15am for the rest of school year (once a month)

I invite you to become a member of the Dubuque Police Department Exploring program. The purpose of this program is to provide you with information about careers in all types of law enforcement, to answer any questions you may have regarding the profession, and to participate in hands-on projects demonstrating law enforcement principles. Join us for activities in crime scene investigation, patrol techniques, fingerprinting, K-9 handling, firearms handling and safety, how to conduct traffic stops, and more!
John Deere Engineering:
START DATE: OCTOBER 9TH
Meetings: Thursdays from 5-7pm Nov-April

Explorers will be introduced to a wide array of engineering disciplines and some of the engineers that work in those disciplines. Activities will include introduction to CAD (Computer Aided Design), 3D modeling of components and assemblies, and CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). You will also be introduced to the Virtual Reality Lab and how this will change the way that engineers design machines in the future. There will be many hands-on projects that the John Deere team will create for you to master.
Swiss Valley: Conservation and Wildlife Management
START DATE: OCTOBER 13TH
Meetings: Tuesdays from 6-7pm (6 meetings)
The purpose of this program is to provide you with information about careers in all types of conservation & wildlife management, to answer any questions you may have regarding the profession, and to participate in hands-on projects & activities demonstrating conservation principles. Join us to gain more of a behind the scenes look into the career fields of conservation and wildlife management. This program is run by the Dubuque County Conservation Board, with occasional guests from the DNR and other conservation related groups.
Capri Cosmetology
START DATE: OCTOBER 15TH
Meetings: 4:30-5:30 on the third Thursday of each month through April
careers and skills in this field. The purpose of this program is to give you the best information we can about careers in the BEAUTY & WELLNESS INDUSTRY through hands on demonstrations and discussions about hair, makeup, facials, manicures, pedicures, and massage therapy.
FEH Design
START DATE: OCTOBER 20TH
Meetings: 4:30-6pm on the 20th, Nov 3rd, 10th, 17th
We may also have occasional off-site activities and learning opportunities as they arise. Topics will include general architecture, phases of building design, sustainable design, and engineering systems in building design.
Dubuque Fighting Saints: Sports Marketing
START DATE: OCTOBER 28TH

This is a great opportunity to learn about sports marketing careers right here in Northeast Iowa. You will learn about education & qualifications; have the ability to network with professionals, and more importantly get hands-on experience within the profession.
